2025 / 2026 Thursday Night Mixed League Registration Information

UPDATED August 11, 2025

Welcome to the Springbank Thursday Night Mixed Curling League! Our focus is on friendly competition, fun, and camaraderie while enjoying the sport we love. We can accommodate up to 24 teams in the league and welcome curlers of any experience level.

2025–2026 Fees

  • $1,780 per 4-person team.

  • Teams may elect to have a 5th or 6th curler at a cost of $35 per additional player, which allows them to be included in prizes and any subsidized social events.

  • Note for players who register at other curling clubs: the Curling Alberta player fee is embedded in the Springbank Curling Club team fee, so you can opt out of this fee at other clubs.

Registration Process

To register, please email Stewart Brightman at springbankthursdaymixed@gmail.com. Once confirmed, Stewart will provide payment instructions.  All players on teams must then complete an annual online registration form on the Springbank Curling Club website, sign up for the leagues they are curling in, and acknowledge the Curling Canada Waiver.

Thursday League Start Date

  • There will be 22 nights of curling starting Thursday, October 2, 2025 with 7:00 PM and 9:15 PM start times.

  • Each game consists of 8 ends or one complete end after the buzzer (buzzer sounds 90 minutes after the scheduled start time), whichever occurs first.

  • No curling during the two-week Christmas break.

  • The last night of curling is Thursday, March 12, 2026.

League Format

  • This is a traditional mixed league – please refer to the “Thursday Night Mixed Guidelines” on the website for more information on team composition.

  • The number of Divisions and Round Robins depends on the number of teams registered.

  • Typically, teams are divided into two or three divisions and play three or four round robins, with two or three weeks at the end of the season used for playoffs.

  • “A” Division is for stronger, more experienced teams; “C” Division is for newer and less experienced curlers.

  • Teams are re-seeded after each round based on points earned, allowing stronger teams to move up and others to find competitive balance.

The following table represents the awarded points for a Win, Tie, or Loss:

Final standings for the year are based on points from the final round robin.

Spares & Team Assistance

We have an active spare list. If you don’t have a full team, email Stewart — he can help connect you with other players looking to join a team. All spares must be registered members of the club (Social Membership available).
